At 3:00 pm we will welcome “Champagne” who will present a musical interlude.

Champagne is a group of three musical performers – singers and instrumentalists.  Their repertoire is wide and includes music from jazz, classical, musicals and many other genres.

Melvyn Higgs – baritone singer. Studied at the Guildhall School of Music and then a member of the D’Oyly Carte Opera Co., the English National Opera and Phoenix Opera among others.  Together with Chrystle and Eileen (below) he started “CHAMPAGNE” five years ago.  He is the Musical Director of the Age UK Choir in Croydon.

Chrystle Martin – mezzo-soprano and also violin/viola player.  Became a member of the D’Oyly Carte Opera Co. and then English National Opera.  She has sung and played with many local orchestral groups and teaches singing, violin /viola and piano.

Eileen Kerr – piano accompanist for Champagne and also many local choirs and groups.  She is also the MD for a local Amateur Dramatic Society.  She holds the Gold medal from the Poetry Society and incorporates this ability in our programmes.
